John Reidy

John Reidy, the owner of Yoga 101, is the senior-most teacher in Sonoma County, with over eleven years of experience. He began his career teaching directly for Bikram in his school in San Francisco, and has taught extensively in San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and the East Bay. He initially came to Sonoma County when he was asked to teach at the first Bikram school in the county at Mission and Montgomery in Santa Rosa. That school quickly became the most popular yoga school in the county.

John became a student of Bikram Yoga at Yoga Source in Palo Alto in February 1994 under the guidance of Christine McLeod.  John was in the 3rd Bikram teacher training class, in 1996, with just 32 students intensively trained by Bikram personally. Classes now number as high as 300 students per class.

Of the three Bikram yoga schools in the area, all were originally opened and staffed by students of John, who went on to Bikram training.

In 2001, using his background in construction, John designed and built the Yoga Stop on the 101 in Cotati. We have a truly beautiful school with fantastic mirrors and soft indirect lighting. John has also built yoga schools in El Cerrito, Alamo and San Ramon.

John has personally taught over 5,000 Bikram yoga classes all around the Bay Area.  His unique style, inspiration, experience and knowledge, combined with our lovely studio, will make your yoga class a memorable experience.  Many of our students say they won’t go anywhere else!
